CUNCOLIM: A major house break-in was reported in Cuncolim on Tuesday, where unidentified miscreants allegedly stole gold ornaments and cash worth approximately ₹15 lakh from a local residence.
According to the complaint filed by Santana Dias, a resident of Cuncolim, the incident occurred on June 10 when unknown individuals broke open the main door lock of the house and gained unlawful entry. The accused then reportedly accessed the metal cupboard lockers and decamped with valuables, including gold jewelry and cash.
The theft came to light when Dias discovered the break-in upon returning home and immediately alerted the Cuncolim Police. A case has been registered, and further investigation is being carried out under the supervision of PSI Aditya Sawant.
Police have initiated a probe and are reviewing CCTV footage from the surrounding area. Forensic teams were also called in to gather evidence from the crime scene.
Authorities have urged anyone with information related to the incident to come forward and assist in the investigation.
