Panaji – As Government is now contemplating to reduce the forthcoming budget session to just one day, the Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant must release the White Paper on Finance and Covid situation in Goa immediately.
The Government needs to reset the Budget 2020-21 with actual figures of revenue and expenditure after the change in economic scenario due to outbreak of Covid pandemic demanded Leader of Opposition Digambar Kamat.
If at all the Government decides to reduce the session, I am of the opinion that the house should re-validate the Vote on Account for further four months and a full fledged four week session can be convened in November – December stated Digambar Kamat.
Digambar Kamat briefed the media after attending an informal meeting convened by the Speaker of the Goa Legislative Assembly. The consensus emerged to hold the session for a single day going by the prevailing steep rise in Covid positive patients in the state of Goa.
He however stated that the decision about the exact business to be transacted in the one day session will be decided at the Business Advisory Committee meeting soon.
