CANACONA: Stating personality development happens only through education, Sahitya acamadician and educationist Kamlakar Mhalshi said, Education changes life and life style for good.
Speaking further, Mhalsi said, since education is the foundation, the government should take education more seriously. Mhalshi who himself is a retired teacher and commendable contribution towards education, said that the government should give more emphasis on education by saying what is the use of all facilities, if they do not produce ideal citizens to enjoy those facilities. Mhalshi was speaking as the chief guest at the annual Sneha Samelan of Government Primary School, Chawdi Canacona.
‘Known as ‘Aval’ during the Portuguese regime, this school at Chawdi has an educational heritage and today this school is running with the help of non-Gomantika students. Chawdi councillor Ramakant Naik Gaonkar said that he is ready to provide maximum support so that this school should survive against all odds and declared that he is donating 25 thousand rupees to the school as charity.

Sanjay Komarpant, Pournima Gayak gave speeches on this occasion. Heads of various schools were present on this occasion. Shital Pagi, Archana Carvalho, Sheela Talpankar, Milan Desai, Aarti Bhandari, Lankeshi Pagi, Bhalchandra Gaunkar, Srishti Tubki, Meghna Velip, Pratibha Zhore, Sangeeta Gawas, Priyanka Desai were given gifts.
On this occasion, Chaudi councillor and Ex CMC Chairperson Ramakant Naik Gaunkar, journalists Sanjay Komarpant, CMC’s former Vice Chairperson Dilip Kenkre, Purnima Gayak of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, Headmistress Aarti Kolbakar, Parents Teachers Association president Sunil Kalakoti were present on the platform.
