MARGAO: Union Minister of State for Ports, Shipping and Waterways Shripad Naik assured to Goan Seamen Association of India that all the issues of Seafarers will be resolved at the earliest. He was speaking at the distribution of Covid Care kits to seafarers at Margao today.
In this difficult time of Covid-19 pandemic these kinds of helping gestures portray humanity, said Naik.
“The work of Seamen contributes to the progress of the country. As the Prime Minister allotted the Ports, Shipping and Waterways and Tourism portfolio, I will use this opportunity to fulfill the demands of the Seafarers,” said Shripad Naik.
The Covid Care Kit contains Masks, Sanitizer, Pulse meter, Oxymeter and first aid medicines. Covid Care kit is sponsored by Seafarers International Relief Fund. On this occasion Goan Seamen Association of India submitted a memorandum to the minister regarding pension.
As the minister of tourism, priority is to complete the ongoing work of the Water sports Institute and Catering College in the state, informed Naik.
