PANAJI: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said that hos government has decided to consider granting permissions to re-start closed industrial units.
Chief Minister, Dr Pramod Sawant held a meeting along with Minister for Industries, Mauvin Godinho, Chairperson of Goa Industrial Development Corporation, (GIDC) Shri Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco among others to discuss the facilitation of ease of doing business in Goa and devise a roadmap for industrial growth in the State.
“We discussed the possibilities of encouraging private landowners to lease their land for industries and the role of the Government to facilitate it. At the meeting, it was also decided to consider granting permissions to re-start closed industrial units,” said CM Sawant
Godinho assured to introduce Amendments related to facilitating ease of doing business in the state during the ensuing Assembly session.
Chief Executive Officer of Goa Investment Promotion and Facilitation Board (Goa-IPB) Swetika Sachan enumerated steps that would help create an environment of trust between State and industry.
She spoke of how a single window system to set up industries could become a reality if necessary Amendments were done to the Goa IPB along with reforms of GIDC regulations and the process of re-engineering of all key departments was initiated which would help get for clearances from departments within a timeline and would help in formulating an Investment Policy.
