PANAJI: The Goa Labour Welfare Board has extended its benefits of the schemes to the eligible industrial workers in Goa for the year 2021-2022.
Those industrial workers/employees who are desirous of availing the benefits of the scheme may apply through their employers to the office of the Secretary, Goa Labour Welfare Board Sharm Shakti Bhavan, 4th Floor, Patto – Plaza, Panaji-Goa.
Those industrial workers/employees who have put in more than 6 months of continuous service are eligible to claim benefits. Whereas those workers whose pay does not exceed Rs. 20,000/- per month in respect of schemes titled grant of financial assistance for purchase of textbooks/notebooks to school going children of industrial workers/employees, Grant of financial assistance to school going children of industrial workers/employees studying in 1st to 4th standard for supply of one set of uniform scheme, Scheme for award of scholarship to school or college going children of industrial workers/employees in various establishment and scheme to provide incentive/financial assistance on the basis of attendance in schools/colleges etc. to the female students studying in class V and onwards in any field of education being daughters of workers/employees are eligible. Last date for submission of applications for the aforesaid schemes is September 30, 2021.
Last date of submission for Schemes to pay incentives to the wards of workers on the basis of percentage of marks obtained by them passing the final examination conducted by the Board/Universities from class X onwards is September 30, 2021.
Similarly, there is no time limit for the scheme for supply of T.V. Sets to Industrial establishments/labour welfare centres/Clubs/Recreation Rooms, Scheme for grant of financial assistance to the industrial workers/employees for purchase of spectacles and for schemes for treatment of mentality challenged and spastic children of industrial workers.
Child care benefits for female industrial workers/employees can be availed within 6 months from date of delivery.
For the Scheme for payment of extra monetary compensation for sterilization to employees the submission of applications should be done within one year from the date of operation.
For retrenched workers assistance scheme the submission of applications should be done within one year from the date of retrenchment or within 6 months from the date of settlement.
Other schemes of the Department includes Scheme to Grant Financial Assistance to laid off workers, Stri Sakhi Scheme (supply of sanitary napkin vending machine and incinerator), Scheme for organizing sports games social and cultural activities for industrial workers/employees, Scheme for Grant-in-Aid to libraries from Goa Labour Fund, Scheme for T.B. Domiciliary treatment of employees covered under the Goa Labour Welfare Act. 1986, Scheme for the benefits of children of industrial workers/employees (Labour Welfare Centres), Scheme for excursion–cum–study tours for the workers/employees employed in various industrial establishments and Crèches–Schemes for the benefits of children of industrial workers/employees as informed by Information and Publicity Department.
