PANAJI: The state government has directed Directorate of Settlement and Land Records to undertake Survey of 2 cities and 27 villages through which the Railway track of South Western Railways passes , with a view to settle the area by means of preparation of Record of Rights.
The survey of the cities of Vasco and Margao will be done along with 27 revenue villages from Mormugao, Salcete, Quepem, Sanguem and Dharbandora talukas.
From Mormugao Taluka villages of Pale , Cansaulim,Chicalim, Dabolim, Issorcim, Velsao, Arrosim,Sancoale , from Salcete Taluka the villages of Majorda, Calata,Dicarpale, Chandor, Davorlim, Utorda, Seraulim, Sao Jose de Areal, Cuncolim, Duncolim, from Quepem villages of Curchorem, Xelvona, Odar , from Quepem Taluka villages of Xic Xelvona and Assolda , from Dharbandora villages of Sonaulim ,Caranzol and Colem and in Sanguem Taluka the village of Calem will be surveyed.
As per the notification issued by the govt, in the year 1968-71, the Government of Goa, Daman and Diu, had carried out survey of Revenue villages thereby promulgating the Record of Rights by assigning survey numbers to the various land parcels.
“Certain lands which are in possession of the South Western Railways though surveyed and shown in the survey plan have not been assigned any survey numbers and hence no Record of Rights was created in the nature of Form D in respect of land in possession and occupation of the South Western Railways,” said the notification
In view of this the present survey is initiated to prepare Record of Rights connected therewith, adds the notification.
