PANAJI: Goa University is giving equal importance to all Academic disciplines/ programmes and hence
in line with the NEP 2020.
University has completed the formation of ten Schools so that all the stakeholders receive the academic
benefits of the NEP 2020. The University is in the process of establishing a research park housing
Bio-incubator, Health incubator and IT incubator,” said Sawant.
He further said that to grow Manohar Parrikar School further, the University is thinking about
offering some technology-related programmes along with the existing programme of law in future.
“This has been envisaged to encourage Goan
students with entrepreneur ability to incubate their ideas and to facilitate startup culture on campus,” he added.
Sawant said that as informed by Goa University,
when Manohar Parrikar School was established, there was no School of Social Sciences at Goa University.
Therefore last year, CM said that the University
established a School, namely D.D. Kosambi School of Social Sciences and Behavioural Studies by
amalgamation of post-graduate programmes in Political Science, History and Sociology.
Adopting a pro-student approach, CM said that the University is planning to restructure the School by shifting PG programmes in Women’s Studies, Social Work and Public Administration to D.D. Kosambi School of Social Sciences and Behavioural Studies.
