CURCHOREM: Around 219 employees of the Guddeghal mining await their remaining salary for six years now (since 2015). They have given several representations to authorities and company but their grievances have fallen on the deaf ears.
The 219 mining workers have again raised the on Thursday.
The workers have been raising their voices and agitating for the same but no justice has been given to them.
Though the local politicians and mining companies promised them that they will fulfill their requirements, but no politician or any company has looked into this matter seriously.
Sanvoredm BJP block President Vilas Desai along with mining workers Ashendra velip, Secertary Nilesh Naik, Tomas D’Costa and Vishwas Velip, met the workers at Kalay Guddeghal and promised them that if this problem is not solved within 8 days then they shall meet CM Pramod Sawant and ask for employees’ rights.
“One and half year back when these workers stopped e-auction of ore and went on a hunger strike, police detained them for 18 long hours and were only released when the families of the workers requested. Also Vilas Desai, Kalay Sarpanch Kishor Desai and Karmane Panch Bhanudas Gaonkar visited and promised to solve their issues,” informed Nilesh Naik.
The workers came together yet again on Monday evening for a solution through a meeting which was attended by seven panchayat sarpanch and Sanvordem BJP block president Vilas Desai, as the promises which were made by the company and Politicians, were not fulfilled.
During this meeting the employees pointed out that the Power Minister Nilesh Cabral and Sanvordem MLA Deepak Pauskar last year during a meeting with CM had assured to resolve the issue but nothing has been one so far.
“Because the two politicians made fake promises to us, we are not able to trust these two anymore. Nevertheless, we don’t have any issues with the BJP government, but also they will have to take our problems into consideration, and work towards it,” said mining worker leader Ashendra Velip.
“We trust in Pramod Sawant’s government and we are hoping that he will look into this matter as soon as possible and will come out with a solution,” added Velip.
