Happy New Year 2025: Leaders Urge Unity and Excellence
As the world welcomed the year 2025, India’s top leaders extended heartfelt New Year greetings, emphasizing the importance of unity, excellence, and collective well-being. President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the way in wishing the nation a prosperous and joyful new year.
President Droupadi Murmu’s Message
President Murmu’s New Year message was filled with optimism and a call to action. She urged citizens to welcome the new year with joy and enthusiasm, and to work together towards creating a brighter, more inclusive, and sustainable future for India and the world. In her message on X, she stated, “Wishing everyone a very Happy New Year May the year 2025 bring joy, harmony, and prosperity to all On this occasion, let us renew our commitment to work together for creating a brighter, more inclusive and sustainable future for India and the world.”
PM Narendra Modi’s Wishes
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also extended his New Year greetings, focusing on new opportunities, personal growth, and collective well-being. He wished for everyone to be blessed with good health and prosperity. “May this year bring everyone new opportunities, success, and endless joy. May everybody be blessed with wonderful health and prosperity,” PM Modi wrote on his X handle.
National Celebrations
The nation celebrated the arrival of 2025 with fervor, from prayers at temples and other religious places to vibrant street celebrations. In Delhi, popular spots like Hauz Khas, Connaught Place, and Lajpat Nagar were filled with large crowds. Similar celebrations were seen in other cities, including Mumbai, where beaches like Juhu Beach and Chowpatty Beach were packed with revellers, and in Himachal Pradesh’s Manali, where crowds danced and cheered in the streets.
Other Leaders’ Greetings
Other prominent leaders also joined in extending their New Year wishes. Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar highlighted the significance of the year, marking the final quarter of the Constitution’s centenary, and urged citizens to rededicate themselves to realizing the vision of the Constitution makers. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari also wished the nation a happy, prosperous, and healthy new year.
