PANAJI: The Harvalem village panchayat election schedule was released today by the Goa State Election Commission. The election is set to take place on October 20.
The election timeline has been set, with nominations being accepted from October 1 to October 9. On October 10, the nominations will be scrutinized. On October 11, any candidates who wish to withdraw their candidacies will do so.
Counting of voters to be held On October 21, The administration had designated an Administrator to investigate the panchayat’s operations, and the vice president elections were long overdue.
Ballots will be used for voting from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Election candidates are subject to a ₹40,000 spending cap each ward. To oversee the Model Code of Conduct’s implementation, the Commission has designated flying squads, general observers, and expenditure observers.
The Code is in effect as of September 17 and will be so for the duration of the election. Two of the five wards, Ward IV and Ward V, would be allocated for female candidates, leaving the other three unreserved.
