Panaji: In a significant step towards making healthcare more accessible, Goa’s Health Minister Vishwajit Rane underscored the importance of the Mega Medical Camp held at Nuvem, emphasizing that it is more than just an event, but a personal commitment to ensure every Goan receives free and quality healthcare, regardless of their background.
Held in Nuvem, this initiative removes the financial barriers to medical check-ups and offers free consultations across various medical specialties. Rane highlighted that health is often taken for granted until a challenge arises, and he has always believed that no one should worry about the cost of a doctor’s visit or a medical test.
This camp aligns with the vision of Ayushman Bharat, a flagship initiative under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the guidance of Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda, as outlined in the Union Budget 2025. The camp provides a comprehensive range of medical services, strengthening the mission to ensure access to preventive healthcare for all Goans.
Rane expressed his gratitude to MLA Nuvem Aleixo Sequeira, Minister for Law & Judiciary, Environment, Ports & Legislative Affairs, and other officials including Director of Health Dr. Rupa Naik, Dean of Goa Medical College Dr. Shivanand Bandekar, and Dean of Goa Dental College Dr. Ida De Noronha de Ataide. He acknowledged the invaluable support of these officials in initiatives like the Mega Medical Camp, which are crucial in strengthening healthcare in Goa.
