CANACONA: In a massive show of strength hundreds of Hindus under the banner of Hindavi Swaraj Sanghatan gathered outside the Canacona Dy Collectorate to show unflinched solidarity with the demand not to permit ‘Juluse’ a non-traditional practice of Muslims celebrating Eid sought to be taken out on the streets of Canacona at any point of time, and permanently ban this ‘Juluse’ a type of rally taken out on the roads by Muslim community anytime in future in Canacona taluka.
Speakers stating Muslims in Canacona are purposely applying for the third time to hold the rally (Juluse) in Canacona inspite of earlier two denials /refusals by the authorities, the Rally(Juluse) has nothing traditional and permission is forcibly applied just to show the brute-strength of Muslim community in Canacona.
If the authorities allow ‘Julus’ in Canacona inspite of our justified opposition, there will be bloodshed in the taluka, when the Juluse is taken out.
There will be a Law and Order issue from the moment permission is accorded. This activity ‘Juluse’ is not a traditional one at least in Canacona, but some members of the Muslim community are purposely attempting to impose it in Canacona with malicious intentions. We will not allow it to happen’. If allowed there will be bloodbath. We have put Swords aside and have put pens in our pockets and that doesn’t mean we will remain silent anymore.’, said speaker Samrat Bhagat.
A couple of days ago, a call was given by The Hindavi Swarajya Sangathan to join in large numbers to hand-over a Memorandum to the Dy.
