THIVIM: A burglary has been reported from the Housing Board Colony at Madel, Thivim in North Goa, where unknown accused persons broke into a locked residence and stole gold jewellery worth ₹1.9 lakh.
According to Colvale Police, the offence has been registered under Crime No. 38/2026 under Sections 331(1), 331(2), and 305(a) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023.
As per the complaint filed by Sudesh Banaulikar (55), a businessman residing near Vrundavan Hospital, Karaswada, Mapusa, the incident occurred between 6:00 am on April 22 and 10:00 am on April 25.
Police said the accused, acting with common intention, gained entry into the house belonging to the complainant’s brother, Sandeep Banaulikar, by breaking open the latch of the main gate and subsequently forcing open the main door.
The culprits allegedly fled with a gold chain featuring a “sun” design pendant valued at ₹1,90,000.
Colvale Police have registered the case against unknown persons, and further investigation is in progress under PSI Sunny Kanekar.
