PANAJI: Panaji Police today have registered an FIR against activist Rama Kankonkar for allegedly hurting religious sentiments after he posted a video on social media against a religious leader.
Late on Wednesday night, a number of Sadguru Brahmeshanandacharya Swami Maharaj’s supporters gathered at the Panaji police station and demanded that he be taken into custody. Additionally, they complained about Kankonkar’s offensive remarks.
Police in Panaji are searching for Kankonkar.
According to the allegation, Kankonkar unnecessarily involved the swami in a dispute concerning the Dev Khapreshwar temple in Porvorim.
The complaint claims that Kankonkar has defamed the Swamiji, whose outstanding contributions to Sanatan Dharma and society are valued globally, by using derogatory language.
