PANAJI: The Ministry of Home Affairs has issued a directive instructing senior IAS officer Sanjit Rodrigues to report immediately to the Union Territory of Ladakh for administrative duties.
The directive comes with a strong warning that failure to comply will attract disciplinary proceedings, including the imposition of major penalties under the All India Services (Discipline and Appeal) Rules.
Rodrigues, has reportedly not taken charge of his new post in Ladakh despite prior orders.
The Ministry has emphasized the binding nature of the transfer and underscored that any further delay or refusal will be treated as insubordination.
According to sources, such penalties could include suspension, salary stoppage, or even removal from service in extreme circumstances. The move highlights the Centre’s strict stance on service discipline and timely compliance with administrative postings.
Further developments are awaited as the situation unfolds.
