CANACONA: Asking one should not to listen to the voices of those who wants to dominate entire community, Minister of Arts and Culture Govind Gaude told the people to keep doing their work and should not listen to the voices without any fear of those who themselves fears of losing their dominance and keep on doing their work in a positive way.
He was present as the chief guest at the Aadi Utsav organized by the Parvati family at Yeda Khotigao. He inaugurated the festival by lighting the lamp in the presence of Canaqcona Municipality Councilor Shubham Komarpant, Gaondongrim Sarpanch Yeshwant (Dhillan) Desai, ZP (Poinguinim) Shobhana Velip, Parvati Parivar Sangh President & former Khotigao Sarpanch Daya Gaonkar, Molu Welip, Srikanth Velip, Rasika Gaonkar, Dhillan Naik, Ashok,, Sharmila Gaonkar, Meena Gaonkar were present on the platform.
Speaking further Gaude said, ‘Only those who overcome adversity and hurdles move forward. As for political power if it is today with you, it may be with someone else tomorrow. As long as I am there, we are ready to protect the folk culture and our community culture. The one who wins the hearts of the people becomes the leader’. Adding further he such kind of person that is not a politician who leaves others in the lurch once his work is accomplished.
Speaking on the occasion, Daya Gaonkar as organiser and Parvati parivar president said that some people celebrate wild vegetables for one day and then abandon it only to remember it in the next year. Our Parvati family, however, goes to various places in Goa to give information and provide knowledge about wild vegetables and create public awareness through demonstrations. We have the full support and cooperation of our Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant, Art and Culture Minister Govind Gaude supporting us alsways in every work we do’.
Gaongondrim sarpanch Dhillon Desai agreeing with the Arts and Culture minister’s comment on crab mentality, said that I too agree with the views of Govind Gaude, since the same people who were given full cooperation nd enjoyed the fruits given by Govind Gawde are now working to pull Govind Gaude down’.
CMC Councillor Shubham Komarpant reminded the farmers of Canacona that even after several years of laying the foundation stone for Krishi-Ghar, its work has not yet started in a reference to Agriculture building at Chaudi Canacona and said that it is a tragedy that women in rural areas have to sell their crops by sitting on the roadsides.
ZP Shobhana Velip also spoke on this occasion, while Arjun Janu Gaonkar, Sunanda Desai, Devidas Gaonkar, Paiek Padkar, Krish Gaonkar, who are working in various fields, were felicitated with shawls, Shrifal and mementos.
