Panaji: Calangute MLA Michael Lobo has said that political dynamics in Goa have changed significantly over the years, claiming that while very few people were inclined to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in 2007, the situation today is completely different with many aspiring to be part of the party.
Speaking on local political developments, Lobo stated that every individual in Calangute is free to contest elections and that preparations are underway from all sides. He added that ultimately, it is the people who will decide their next MLA.
He further said that as an elected representative, he has been working to ensure 100% delivery of development work for the constituency. According to him, several projects have already been completed, while the remaining pending works will be taken up and finished soon.
On the issue of party candidature, Lobo clarified that the final decision will rest with the party leadership. He encouraged aspirants to come forward and demonstrate their capabilities, stating that performance and public connect will play a crucial role.
Recalling his political journey, he said that although there was a brief period when he was away from the party, he has been associated with it since the early stages. Lobo concluded by remarking that political acceptance of BJP has grown considerably since 2007, when very few showed interest in joining the party.
