Panaji:
Minister for Waste Management Michael Lobo on Tuesday said that the government has sanctioned Rs 25 cr for setting up solid waste management plant at Cacora in South Goa.
“We will hand over Rs 10 cr to M/s Hindustan for mobilising the material and beginning of construction at Cacora,” he said.
Lobo said the contractor will be given 15months to complete the work.
“So we will have the plant by next elections,” he said.
He said the CM has also sanctioned Rs 10 cr for expansion of Saligao treatment plant today.
“We showed CM the progress of work at Saligao plant,” he said.
On Bainguinim, he said, the issue was discussed and on November 11 the tender bids would be opened.
Biomedical waste facility facility and C&D waste facility will also come up at Bicholim.
“In next two years Goa will have permanent solution to all waste issues,” he said.
