The incessant rains in the State have wreaked havoc with several places inundated by the rain water even as the all major rivers were flowing above the danger mark.
The IMD said that the rain has crossed the 100 inches mark on Wednesday.
There were reports of landslide at Chorla ghat, the road to the neighbouring Belgavi in Karnataka. This led to over 6 hours of traffic jam on the highway.
In Bicholim several houses were submerged as the River Sal was overflowing due to release of water from Tillari dam.
Normal life was thrown out of gear even in Pernem as water from Tilari dam was released.
Villages such as Mopa, Chandel, Ibrampur, Pernem town, Patradevi, Tuem, Parse and other parts of Pernem taluka witnessed flooding due to heavy rain.
In Mapusa around 60 houses affected and over 200 people were shifted from Bamon waddo in Camurlim village near Ferry point after the village witnessed heavy rain water flooding due to increased in water level of Chapora River.
Flooding situation was also witnessed in Colvale and others areas where water entered into house since a sluice gate at Chichalim in Colvale was broken.
In Sattari, the River Mhadei, Valvanti, Ragada, Velus were over flowing.
There were reports of water gushing into the houses in some areas.
At Curchorem Fire and Emergency Services received more than 40 calls after 7.00 am on Wednesday besides several calls on Tuesdays informing about uprooting of trees from various places under their jurisdiction.
