DELHI: India’s indigenous air defence systems have proven their effectiveness in neutralizing numerous waves of drone and unmanned combat aerial vehicle (UCAV) attacks, according to Air Marshal AK Bharti. The systems, including both soft and hard kill counter-UAS technologies, successfully countered threats from Pakistan, thanks to the expertise of well-trained Indian Air Defence personnel.
Speaking about the success of these systems, Air Marshal Bharti said, “Our battle-proven systems stood the test of time and faced these challenges head-on.” He specifically praised the stellar performance of the Akash air defence system, which has been instrumental in strengthening India’s aerial defense capabilities.
He further acknowledged the vital support from the Indian government, both financially and through policy, which has enabled the country to build and operationalize a robust air defence environment over the past decade. “Putting together and operationalizing the potent AD environment has been possible only because of budgetary and policy support from the government of India in the last decade,” Bharti added.
The success of these systems reflects India’s growing self-reliance in the defense sector and its commitment to securing its airspace against emerging threats.
