PANAJI: The Governor of Goa PS Sreedharan Pillai on the occasion of 73rd Republic Day appealed public servants to introspect whether we are “corruption-free” in delivering services.
In his Republic Day address on Wednesday, Governor also announced to hold Sampurna Goa yatra within a year to reach out all the Villages and to understand their problems.
“Republic Day is a day for public workers, bureaucrats etc to introspect. All public workers, all government servants and related people should introspect. Introspect of various aspects whether we are dedicating properly to our country, whether our hands are free from corruption,” Governor said.
“We should take a pledge that we will do more and more public service and dedicate our self for that post.l,” Pillai added.
he governor further said that social democracy implies the way of life that recognises the liberty and equality of people.
“In our history, all these principles are truly followed by us. Of course, 1975 to 1977 were the darkest days in our democracy,” he commented.
Further speaking, Governor announced to hold a year-long Sampurna Goa yatra in an effort to reach out to villagers and understand their problems.
The Governor also urged voters to come out in large and vote on February 14, when the general assembly elections to 40-assemby constituencies is scheduled.
He also congratulated State government on achieving 100 per cent vaccination.
