PANAJI: The first ‘Gaushala’ of International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) in the state of Goa, is inaugurated ISKCON Center, at Devgim, Madel-Chodan on Sunday.
Mayem MLA Pravin Zantye, Chodan-Madel Sarpanch Kamlakant Palyekar, BJP spokesperson Premanand Mahambre, Former Mayem MLA Dharma Chodankar along with ISKCON monks Nagendra Das,
Achyut Gopal Das, Arjun Priya Das among other were present for the inauguration.
Speaking on the occasion Mayem MLA Praveen Zantye emphasize on the need for more such Gaushala in the state of Goa.
“Cow rearing and agriculture is the most sustainable living in the society and this needs to be encouraged”, said Zantye.
Zantye assured the ISKCON members that his company would support this endeavours on regular basis thus the Gaushala could grow in numbers in entire state of Goa.
He congratulated the ISKCON Goa for initiating sustainable projects in his constituency and assured all required help from Government.
The Gaushala set up by the ISKCON has housed Goan local breed cow Shwet Kapila.
“Gauseva and Gau-raksha is one of the biggest missions of ISKCON. This is something that makes Sri Krishna very happy. If the cows are served well, the entire mankind stays happy. Hence, we are very happy to inaugurate ISKCON Goa’s very first Gaushala,” said Achyut Gopal Das.
Earlier, senior Monk from ISKCON Nagendra Das addressing the gather on importance of cow rearing for the mankind. He referred the prominent scriptures from Hindu religion and acknowledgment from scientific community on significance of cow.
