PANAJI: Marcaim MLA And Power Minister Sudin Dhavalikar today said that High Court of Bombay at Goa has given its decision in regards to Shree Navadurga Temple at Madkai.
“It is very clear, HC has given a decision, whatever is received in offerings at temple, half of it goes to the committee and the other half remains with them,” said Dhavalikar
He further said that Some people who are unaware of this, entered the temple and misbehaved, Police have already informed them about it and whatever mistakes have taken place, all of them are trying to rectify it.
“This matter won’t go beyond this since police intervention. The traditional temples in goa are under Mahajan Act, based on which there are certain nominated houses to do all temples related work,” he added
Dhavalikar said that these youngsters are not aware of the rules and regulations.
The ongoing tension at the Navdurga Devastan Madkai flared up on Monday morning as a dispute erupted between the temple priests and local villagers during the concluding ceremony of the jatrotsav.
The altercation was captured on video and has since gone viral across social media where both the parties are seen fighting.
