The Association of All Goa Muslims Jamats has issued SOPs for the masjids to adhere to safety guidelines as some mosques in safe zones have suggested re-opening from July 1.
“The opinion of most masjid committees across the State of Goa and the executive members of our association is that Recommend Delay in Opening of Masjids till July 31, 2020 keeping in mind the current rise in Corona cases in Goa. However, those few masjids who are in SAFE ZONES and are in favour of opening their respective masjid for daily 5 times namaz from July 1, 2020 should take this decision with full responsibility of implementing Government SOP,” the advisory by Association President Shaikh Bashir Ahmed stated.
The association has also said that safety of every person entering the masjid, the staff of the masjid, committee members and families at home should not be at risk. The masjids may be opening only for residents living close to the masjids, the advisory further said.
The safety measures such as wearing of masks, prohibition of large gathering, no Friday prayers till further isntrucitons from Government of India, testing of every person through thermal guns, prohibition of entry of children below 10 years and senior citizens above age of 65 years, avoid touching of frequently touched things such as door handles hand rails, etc; no touching of Quran, no use of AC, etc have been mentioned for the masjids reopening from July 1.
The association had earlier delayed reopning of the masjids till June 30 in view of rise in COVID-19 cases.
