VASCO: Shri Damodar Bhajani saptah Vasco will be celebrated in great fervour this year. In a joint meeting held on Monday, Deputy Collector Mormugao assigned several duties and ordered the multiple government agencies to work in synchronisation.
The Vasco saptah ferry remains for seven days.
On Monday joint meeting of multiple government departments officers was called by the Mormugao deputy collector to decide and discuss the annual Vasco saptah ferry. The Saptah committee got a green signal to celebrate saptah with great enthusiasm as per the tradition.
After the meeting, Damodar Saptah committee head Jayant Sonurlekar said that the saptah committee got a green signal from the deputy collector to celebrate saptah on this day. But on a condition that in coming days if any SOPs from the government’s side comes up, then we will have to adhere to those SOPs’ Sonurlekar said.
Deepak Naik, Vasco BJP mandal president and Councillor, said it is a matter of joy that after two years of gap, devotees across Goa will get an opportunity to come to Vasco and get darshan of the Lord Damodar during Saptah.
He further said that the Deputy Collector emphasised the synchronisation of the PWD department, electricity department, MMC, Fire Services, Police surveillance etc., during the joint meeting.
