MAPUSA: The Mapusa Police on arrested a 39-year-old Kenyan national for residing in Goa without valid immigration documents, in violation of Indian visa and passport regulations.
The accused, identified as Teresia Wairimu Muturi, was apprehended at Bhatiwado, Parra in Bardez, North Goa. According to police, Muturi was found to be living in India without a valid visa or any authorization from Indian immigration authorities.
She was charged under Section 14 of the Foreigners Act, 1946, and Section 6(a) of the Passport (Entry into India) Rules, 1950. A case has been registered under Crime No. 64/2025 at the Mapusa Police Station.
The arrest followed a complaint filed by PSI Bablo Parab, who also led the preliminary inquiry into the matter. The investigation is currently being conducted under the supervision of SDPO Mapusa Shri Ashish Shirodkar and PI Shri Nikhil Palekar, with overall oversight by SP North Goa Shri Akshat Kaushal, IPS.
Sources said that further legal action, including deportation proceedings, is likely to be initiated pending the outcome of the investigation.
