BAMBOLIM: Agacaim Police has arrested a Kerala tourist for allegedly assaulting a doctor on duty at Goa Medical College’s (GMC) casualty department.
As per information, the accused has been identified as Arif Siddique (25-30) native of Kerala.
Siddique has been charged under Cr. No.53/2024 U/s 132, 115(2), 221 of BNS and section 4 of Goa Medicare Service Personnel and Medical Service Institute (Prevention of Violence and Damage or Loss to Property) Act 2013, upon the complaint of Dr. Mahesh Panche, CMO, Casualty Department, GMC Bambolim.
Information reveals that Arif reported in the casualty department to the effect that on 21/09/2024 at 04.25 hrs at the Casualty Department, GMC Bambolim, the accused person Arif Siddique tried to slap the complainant and when the complainant tried to avoid the same, he was hit on his chest.
Further, the accused person also tried to hit the doctor with the saline stand present next to him thereby obstructing the complainant while discharging his lawful duties of examining the patients in the Casualty Department of GMC Bambolim Goa.
