PORVORIM: Continuing his tirade against friend-turned foe, Waste Management Minister Michael Lobo, Porvorim IND MLA Rohan khaunte on Tuesday said that neither was he invited nor was aware about the meeting called by the former to discuss Covid 19 preparedness in Bardez taluka.
Lobo on Monday chaired a meeting to discuss various measures that needs to be adopted to avoid further spread of virus in Bardez, which is so far least affected by Covid. Siolim MLA Vinod Palyekar and Mapusa MLA Joshua D’souza attended the meeting.
“I was not aware about this meeting being called and also was not called for this meeting. I only read through news that some ministers are appointed.” Khaute said
He added, “I do not know why the BJP is politicising this issue. What is the role of BJP ministers to look after the talukas when there are MLA’s in each constituency. Every MLA should have been given the responsibility of his own constituency to look after the situation.”
Khaunte further said the state government through every possible place is trying to politicise issues which is actually not required.
“Neither had I received a call nor a letter about yesterday’s meeting. Even if I was called for the meeting, I possibly would not gone there because the person who is chairing the meeting needs an IQ to understand what is Covid 19, the person who welcoming quarantine tourism, I don’t this can handle Covid” the MLA said
