MARGAO: Konkan Railway has intensified its ticket checking operations across the network to curb ticketless travel and ensure a safe and comfortable journey for genuine passengers.
Between April and September 2025, the railway conducted 5,493 special ticket checking drives, detecting 1,82,781 cases of unauthorized or irregular travel and recovering ₹12.81 crore as fare and penalty.
In October 2025 alone, 920 special drives were held, during which 42,645 offenders were caught, leading to the collection of ₹2.40 crore in fines and fare recovery.
Konkan Railway has appealed to passengers to purchase valid tickets before commencing their journey, warning that travelling without one is a punishable offence. The intensified checking drives will continue across the route to maintain discipline and uphold passenger-centric services.
