BICHOLIM: Heavy rain has caused landslides at the newly constructed Valshi, Vathadev bypass road at Bicholim with mud and stones blocking the road and disrupting traffic flow.
Two bike riders who were passing along the road had a lucky escape. Locals informed that several incidents of landslides had occurred in the area over the past few days at a smaller scale.
They said that authorities had not paid any heed to their frequent pleas.
Local MLA Dr Chandrakant Shetye who visited the site said that the concerned engineer will take a call as to whether to close the road for traffic or not.
“As it is a new road, teething problems would be there, he opined.
