FATORDA: A case of theft and criminal intimidation has been registered at Fatorda Police Station following a complaint filed by Deepa Gaonkar, a resident of Vasco.
According to the complaint, the incident occurred on January 24, 2026, at around 6.30 pm at Golden Vista, located behind Max Mall in Margao.
The accused, identified as Jaykumar Rajeshbhai Rana, a resident of Bharuch, Gujarat, allegedly took away an HP laptop belonging to OYO Company/Hospitality from the reception counter.
The theft reportedly followed a dispute over an unsatisfactory refund payment. During the altercation, the accused is also alleged to have criminally intimidated the complainant before leaving the premises with the laptop, valued at approximately ₹50,000.
Police have registered an offence in the matter, and further investigation is being carried out by PSI Sachin Patil of Fatorda Police Station.
