Margao: Cuncolim MLA & Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao on Tuesday distributed Griha Aadhar sanction orders to around 250 beneficiaries.
Yuri Alemao said that inflation is increasing every passing day and prices of essential commodities have skyrocketed. “In such a scenario this financial assistance helps homemakers to manage the needs of the house,” he said.
“Though this scheme aims to support homemakers financially, we should always have a goal towards self-reliance. I have always tried to foster initiatives, which will help for the empowerment of womenfolk,” he said.
Alemao assured that his office will always help his constituents to avail any government scheme and empower women.
He said that steps have been taken to make the overall development of the constituency. “We have many developmental projects in the pipeline. All these projects will be implemented with your consent,” he said.
“Renovation of Chieftains Memorial along with Freedom Fighters park will take place soon. It will also be our responsibility along with the government to protect these places with historical importance,” Alemao said.
He said that in order to provide internet facilities to the constituents, 3 Wi-FI spots will be identified in the constituency. “This will help our students and others to use the internet with good speed,” he said.
Alemao said that he has plans to come up with a ‘food court’, which will attract people and strengthen the local economy.
“This would be one of the best projects in our constituency, creating many opportunities. Such more projects will be planned in the near future,” he said.
CMC Chairperson Landry Mascarenhas, Melisa Alemao, Chandor Sarpanch Sonia Fernandes, Paroda Sarpanch Paulina Fernandes, Macazana Sarpanch Agnelo D’Costa, Balli Sarpanch Govind Fal Dessai and others were present on the occasion.
