Sancoale: Attacking BJP government that it is not bothered of common man’s life, Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao on Thursday urged former Sarpanch of Sancoale Shri Premanand Naik to end his hunger strike for health reasons.
“Naik has entered day 5 of his hunger strike against the Bhutani project. But the BJP government seems to be adamant, this proves it cares a damn for the life of a common man,” Alemao said.
Alemao urged the senior citizen Naik to end the strike for health reasons and assured him to fight the battle unitedly.
“The Ministers and MLAs in this BJP government have become thick-skinned, hence they have no value for the lives of the common man. I request Shri Premanand Naik to end his fast as it can have adverse effects on his health,” said Alemao.
Congress leader Yuri Alemao said that they are all united in the fight against such draconian projects, which play a major role in the destruction of Goa.
Speaking on the Bhutani project, Alemao said that the ministers in the government are hand-in-glove with Bhutani and their actions are a testament to this.
“The Secretary, who was transferred a few weeks ago, returns to the same panchayat. Why? There are so many secretaries sitting in BDOs without posting. Why is the same secretary brought back?,” Alemao questioned.
Ridiculing the statement of Chief Minister Pramod Sawant that ‘he is not connected with Bhutani Megaproject’, Alemao dared him to reveal the names of those connected.
“How can the Chief Minister say the permissions are not granted by his department? He is the head of government and if does not know what is happening under his nose he should step aside,” Alemao stated.
The Leader of Opposition demanded a high-level inquiry into the project.
“Only a high-level inquiry can expose people involved in this deal and also who have received the kick-backs,” he said.
