CALANGUTE: Calangute police has arrested a Maharashtra native for allegedly accepting Matka bets from local public at Khobrawaddo.
As per information, Vikram Naik (25) was caught red handed near Sigadi Bar & Restaurant, Khobrawado, Baga while accepting matka bets from the members of local public in an open public place
The police also found in his possession one matka slip book with two pieces of blue carbon papers, one ball pen and cash of Rs.1,040/- in different denomination.
Accused was arrested and released on bail on same day. Further investigation is in progress with HC 5829 Apa Kadam.
Calangute P.S had registered an offence against Naik U/Sec 11(2)(a) of Goa Daman and Diu Public Gambling Act.
