MORJIN: In response to recent media reports highlighting concerns over the condition of the Morjim Khind Garden, an official inspection was conducted today.
The inspection was led by Minister for Tourism, Rohan Khaunte, along with Jeet Arolkar, MLA, Mandrem Constituency, to assess the state of the garden and identify the issues that have been raised.
Expressing serious concern over the issues found at the site, Minister for Tourism, Rohan Khaunte, directed the representative of the operator, M/s Magna Amusement & Leisure Pvt. Ltd., to prioritize the complete maintenance of Morjim Khind Garden.
He emphasized the urgency of making the park fully operational for the general public and tourists as early as possible.
Minister for Tourism, Rohan Khaunte stated “It is disheartening to see a project of this scale fall short of its intended purpose. Our priority is to ensure that Morjim Khind Garden is transformed into a vibrant public space that reflects Goa’s commitment to high standards of tourism infrastructure. We will not compromise on the quality and experience we deliver to both our locals and visitors and we expect the operator to take swift action to make this vision a reality by the end of this month.””
The representative of M/s Magna Amusement & Leisure Pvt. Ltd. assured the Hon’ble Tourism Minister that the required maintenance work would be taken up on priority, with a target to make the garden operational by 31st October 2024.
The Minister further instructed GTDC officials to secure a commitment letter from the operator, confirming their intention to complete the maintenance work by the specified deadline. Additionally, GTDC officials were directed to submit a compliance report on the progress of the work
