COLVA: Colva police have registered a case of rape against a man from Colva for allegedly establishing a physical relationship with a woman on the false promise of marriage.
According to police, the complaint was filed by a lady complainant from Salcete, whose identity has been withheld. She alleged that since November 2025, the accused Subhash Lamani, a resident of Colva, developed a friendly relationship with her.
Police said the accused allegedly had sexual intercourse with the complainant on multiple occasions on the pretext of marrying her. However, when the complainant later requested him to proceed with the marriage, the accused reportedly refused.
Based on the complaint, police have registered an offence against the accused for rape on the promise of marriage.
Further investigation is being carried out by PSI Nikhil Khajnekar of Colva Police Station.
