DABOLIM: In a tragic incident, a man identified as Sukal Marandi (45), a resident of Opposite Dabolim Airport and a native of Dumka, Jharkhand, passed away while undergoing treatment at Ward No. 103 in GMC Bambolim.
As per a wireless message from the C.P GMC Bambolim, Vasco police was informed that Marandi succumbed to his injuries after being referred to GMC from SDH Chicalim.
During an inquiry, Vasco police revealed that Marandi had sustained injuries after falling
from a wall near his residence.
He was initially taken to SDH Chicalim for treatment and later referred to GMC Bambolim, where he passed away.
Police conducted an inquest panchanama, and the deceased’s body was referred for post-mortem examination.
The post-mortem report, issued by the police surgeon, confirmed that Marandi’s death resulted from head and cervical spine injuries caused by a blunt force impact with a surface or object.
No foul play has been suspected and the body has been handed over to the family for final rites.
The Vasco police have registered a case of unnatural death under Section 194 of BNSS and PSI Plato Carvalho of Vasco Police Station is carrying out further investigation under the supervision of PI Kapil Nayak and guidance of Mormugao DySP Salim Shaikh.
