CUMBHARJUA: A 60-year-old man from Cumbharjua, Tiswadi, died after suffering an electric shock while attempting to fix a power issue at his residence.
According to police, the incident came to light on April 22, 2026, at around 2:15 am after a call was received from the Primary Health Center in Betki, Ponda, informing that Minesh Vasudev Vengurlekar had been brought dead by EMRI-108 services.
Preliminary enquiry revealed that there was no electricity at the deceased’s residence, and he was trying to restore the supply when the power suddenly resumed. He reportedly received a severe electric shock, causing him to collapse.
He was immediately shifted to the Primary Health Center in Betki, where doctors declared him brought dead.
Police have stated that no foul play is suspected. Further enquiry is underway with PSI Saiesh Bhonsle.
