SALIGAO: Police have registered an unnatural death case after a 25-year-old man was found dead in his rented room at Verem, Bardez, on Thursday night.
According to the police, a phone call was received from PCR Panaji at around 9.27 pm on October 30 informing that a male person was lying motionless in a rented room at House No. A/16, Ambekhand, Verem.
The deceased was identified as Mashrikul Mandal (25), son of Ramjan Ali Mandal, native of Ramkrishnapur, Baradurgapur, Kharail, Dakshin Dinajpur, West Bengal.
Saligao Police registered UD No. 17/2025 under Section 194 of the BNSS. Enquiry with the roommates revealed that the deceased was in the habit of consuming alcohol. A panchanama of the scene was conducted, and the body has been preserved at GMC Morgue, Bambolim for autopsy.
Police have ruled out foul play, and further investigation is being conducted by PSI Dishan Naik.
