PANAJI: Manipal Hospital Goa marked International Nurses Day with a special celebration recognising the dedication, compassion, and professionalism of its nursing staff. The event highlighted the vital role nurses play in patient care and acknowledged their continued commitment to strengthening healthcare services.
The programme brought together members of the nursing fraternity, hospital leadership, and medical experts in a gesture of appreciation for the tireless efforts of nurses in delivering quality healthcare. Awards and honours were presented to recognise excellence and outstanding service within the nursing community.
The celebration was attended by several senior medical professionals and dignitaries. Chief Guest Dr. Dipchand Bhandare, Consultant in the Department of Orthopaedics, and Guest of Honour Dr. Dalia Bhandare, Consultant in the Department of Anaesthesiology, joined the hospital leadership in applauding the contributions of the nursing staff.
Hospital Director Mr. Surendra Prasad praised the commitment and resilience shown by nurses in their daily responsibilities. He noted that nurses form the foundation of every healthcare institution and play an essential role in ensuring safe, compassionate, and quality care for patients. He also highlighted how their contribution often extends far beyond clinical duties, bringing comfort and support to patients and families during difficult times.
The event was also attended by Nursing Superintendent Sister Anitha, along with members of the hospital’s medical and administrative teams. The atmosphere reflected gratitude and admiration for the dedication shown by nurses across departments.
The celebration concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Ashwini Colaco, Consultant Pulmonologist, who expressed appreciation to the nursing teams and all those involved in organising the event. The occasion served as a reminder of the critical role nurses continue to play in the healthcare system and the positive impact they make every day.
