MAPUSA: Mapusa Police have arrested 02 persons in connection with the cylinder blast incident that took place on January 22.
As per SDPO Mapusa Jivba Dalvi, there was a blast at around 05 am in the morning in the Hill Top bar and restaurant located at Breeze Apartments, Dangui Colony, Mapusa – Goa.
Upon the incident, police and Fire Services staff swung into action and visited the spot. After conducting a detailed inquiry, Fire Services informed that the incident happened due to the use of a damaged hose pipe of an LPG cylinder which must have further come in contact with some ignition or spark.
Police, after due investigation, all other rumours of foul play have been ruled out.
Based on the report of the Fire department, police immediately registered FIR under sections 336, 285, 427 R/w 34 IPC.
Both the owners were arrested immediately by PI Mapusa Paresh Naik.
Police have already written to the Excise department to cancel the excise licence and to Municipality to revoke the trade licence.
Further investigation is in progress under the supervision of SDPO Mapusa Jivba Dalvi and SP North Nidhin Valsan IPS.
