CALANGUTE: Calangute Constituency Forum had filed a complaint against illegal hill cutting in property at Viegas Waddo, Arpora by K.C Construction.
“Complaint against illegal hill cutting in a property bearing survey no. 94/1 at Viegas vaddo, Arpora by the developer K. C. Construction & Co in violation of environment protection act 1986” said CCF President Premanand Diukar.
He said that the issue was bought to our notice by the villagers of Viegas vaddo Arpora that illegal Hill cutting is taking place in a property bearing survey no.94/1 within the jurisdiction of Village Panchayat Arpora Nagoa.
“On our visit to the site, it is noted that there has been done massive hill cutting to make a access road which resulted into felling of trees and destruction of Environment” he said.
It is pertinent to note that one villager Peter D’Souza had filed complaint against the said Developer Jeremias S. D’Souza, C/O K. C. Construction & Co having registered office at Buldmore Business Park.
CCF further said that they have file this Complaint in public interest to protect our village environment, Biodiversity and natural cover of our hill which need to be protected under Environment Protection Act 1986.
The forum has requested all competent authorities to initiate immediate action against the developer and stop the further destruction of the Biodiversity, Environment and natural cover of the beautiful hill of village Calangute which work as sponge during monsoon to increase ground water level and release oxygen to entire village.
