PANAJI: Transport Minister Mauvin Godinho today said that licenses of those taxis and rent-a-cabs will be cancelled if they do not install speed governors.

Transport Minister Mauvin Godinho, who was offended by the subliminal resistance to speed governors, has made it clear that the government will not tolerate any action that puts the profitable tourism sector at risk because of the outrageous fees that taxi companies demand.
Additionally, he attacked the Goan taxi industry for opposing the entry of ride-sharing services like Ola and Uber, saying that the state was being made fun of for excluding reasonably priced transportation.
According to him, Goa Miles is the only taxi app that is profitable and available at a reduced cost, making it well-liked by users.
“The government granted your requests and forbade Ola and Uber from operating. He clarified that taxi operators can join any app to ensure seamless service and transparency, saying, “People are laughing at us that when these cab aggregators are operating all over the country, there is not a single one in Goa.”
