CANACONA: A memorandum is submitted to the Canacona Dy. Collector and Canacona Police on Tuesday in support of ex-RSS Goa Chief Subhash Velingkar who is accused of hurting the religious sentiments of the Goan community by his utterances against ‘Goycho Saib’ St. Francis Francis Xavier.
The memorandum reportedly states that Jagruth Kankonkar Hindu Bandhav (Brothers) are always with Prof.Velingkar supporting his views and his stand. Whether it is a language movement issue or any issue of the National interest or religious matter. Without any intention to hurt anyone’s religious sentiments, there is nothing wrong with Velingkar’s demand for a DNA test, he has demanded from the government, just keeping a scientific point of view, the memorandum states.
Moreover, blocking the national highway and harassing the common people, using abusive language against the Chief Minister is very wrong, which is highly condemned through this memorandum.
According to highly placed sources, a memorandum to this effect has been submitted to the Deputy Collector of Canacona as well as the Police Inspector of Canacona Police Station.
Including Hindu Swaraj Sanghtan President Dilkush Shet, Sangh Activist and High-school Headmaster Jitendra Amshekar, and others who were personally present amongst 6 others and had a discussion with Canacona PI Harish Raut Desai while submitting this memorandum at Canacona police station.
