SANGUEM: Sanguem Police have registered an offence against four persons following an alleged assault and intimidation incident linked to an ongoing property dispute at Bhati.
According to police, the complaint was lodged by a minor girl, whose identity has been withheld, a resident of Bhati. The incident reportedly occurred on 8 May 2026 at around 12:15 PM.
As per the complaint, the accused identified as Suraj Velip allegedly assaulted the complainant by punching and slapping her on the face and head while she was attempting to take photographs of a loaded tipper truck. He also allegedly abused her using filthy language.
Police said that during the altercation, the complainant’s mother arrived at the spot, following which the accused allegedly started his motorcycle and dashed it against her, causing her to fall onto the road.
The complaint further states that Suraj Velip, along with Suresh Velip, Dashrath Velip and Harishchandra Velip, allegedly threatened the complainant and her family members with dire consequences in connection with a property dispute currently pending before the Deputy Director of Panchayats.
A case has been registered and further investigation is being carried out by PSI Krishnadeep Borkar of Sanguem Police Station.
