MANDREM: The 36-year-old daughter of a Nepali mayor who was missing from Goa on Wednesday was located in a Chopdem hotel.
One month ago, Aarti Hamal vanished from the Osho meditation centre near Mandrem in North Goa, where she had traveled from Nepal. According to a senior police officer, the center’s management had lodged a police complaint with the Mandrem police station.
According to police, the woman was last seen on March 25 at Siolim in North Goa and subsequently vanished.
He added that when eyewitnesses last saw her, she was “very much in the senses,” and that this prompted a massive manhunt to track her down throughout the state.
The search had also begun at Osho’s Canacona center by the police. She has been visiting Goa on a regular basis. He stated, “Even with technical surveillance, she could not be located because she had left her phone back in the center.”
In and around the Pernem and Mandrem areas of North Goa, the state police had begun conducting physical inspections of all the hotels.
According to the police, Aarti and her two friends were discovered in a hotel in Chopdem village on Wednesday. He stated, “We are recording her statement.”
Aarti’s family members have come to the state.
After his daughter vanished, her father posted on social media asking for assistance in locating his daughter.
