PORVORIM: Fisheries Minister Nilkanth Halarnkar today said that the government has appointed IIT Madras to study repair works of Cutbona jetty.
AAP MLA Cruz Silva raised the question over the foundation stone of repair work of Cutbona jetty, of which work had started but someone raised the objections and went to NGT due to which work was stopped.
MLA Silva said that there should be environmental clearances before starting.
Fisheries Minister Nilkanth said that the government will send the DPR to the center for fund allocations. Said it was stopped because some local fishermen went to court.
“We have appointed IIT mantras so the work will start soon,” the minister said.
