PANAJI: Sanvordem MLA and Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) Chairman Ganesh Gaonkar is likely to be the BJP’s nominee for the post of Speaker of the Goa Legislative Assembly.
Party sources confirmed that the decision to back Gaonkar was taken at a recent BJP meeting.
His elevation comes in the wake of Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar being tipped to resign and join the state cabinet as part of the upcoming reshuffle.
