MORMUGAO: Municipal Council on Thursday constituted the standing committee and various sub committees via election process. The standing committee,education, market, solid waste management, development, sanitary health and medicine and bio diversity committee were also formed .
Speaking to media, MMC Chairperson Damodar Kaskar said that all committees will work for the betterment of the people. Kaskar said that as per suggestion of Former Chairperson Deepak Naik, MMC Will try to get a solution on the issue
Former Chairperson Deepak Naik said that MMC had taken a resolution to hike house tax rates in 2014 but in 2020 , another resolution to reduce the house tax was taken to reduce the house tax to prevent burden on people during pandemic.
Naik said that resolution taken in 2020 was not implemented and people were still getting high house tax amounts and demanded that 2020 resolution to reduce house tax be implemented to reduce the amount of house tax
